This allowed us to identify the relative contributions to social network position of spatial influences (including dispersal, settlement and movement decisions (Cote & Clobert, 2007; Cote, Fogarty, Weinersmith, Brodin, & Sih, 2010), and more fine-scale variation in social decision making.
Information on the initial stages of dispersal and settlement are of great interest in understanding the dynamics of biological invasions and in designing management responses.
