Our objective was to assess differences in soil physical and hydrological properties by comparing measures of soil particle size; aggregate stability; hydrophobicity; bulk density; penetration resistance; surface roughness; and infiltration (double-ring and mini-disk tension infiltrometer) between habitats.
We used dripper type of rainfall simulator to generate runoff and the suspended sediment concentration (SSC) in the runoff was measured using optical backscatter sensor, and the infiltration rate was measured with Mini disk portable tension infiltrometer.
Disk compact tension (DCT) specimens made of 100% RAP mixed with the modified PG58-28 shigherhigher fracture energy compared to specimens made of 100% RAP and the neat PG58-28, when tested at −6 °C.
A new approach for measuring the specific fracture energy of concrete denoted modified disk-shaped compact tension (MDCT) test is presented.
The low-temperature cracking characteristics of asphalt concrete materials containing varying amounts of recycled asphalt shingles (RAS), 0 12.5%, and mixed at three different temperatures are investigated using the Disk-shaped Compact Tension (DC(T)) and acoustic emission (AE) tests.
RAP mixtures made of 100% RAP with the addition of neat PG58-28 or soybean-modified PG58-28 were used to prepare dynamic modulus and disk-shaped compact tension (DCT) specimens.
This work promotes the applicability of the so-called modified disk-shaped compact tension (MDCT) test, as an alternative and reliable pulling solution to the conventional CT or DCT, using also cylindrical shape specimens for measuring the specific fracture energy of concrete, in particular when the fracture behavior of a concrete in an already built structure must be assessed.
Initially, the modified disk-shaped compact tension test solution included sliced shape specimens cut off from cylindrical specimens as used in standard compression tests or from drill cores as extracted from real constructions for evaluating age and conditions of the material.
However, from a statistical point of view, considering the difference between the mean values of each test geometry and concrete and with the obtained coefficient of variation the values obtained in case of MDCT are roughly the same as those obtained in case of TPB and the estimation of G F, according to the proposed Modified Disk-Shaped Compact Tension test method, is considered to be reliable.
The fracture properties of RCC with fibers based on disk-shaped compact tension (DCT) tests were shown to be similar or greater than PCC with fibers which indicates both RCC and PCC pavements, when properly constructed, will have similar fracture and fatigue resistance.
Remove carefully because there is a small disk spring that keep tension on the film take up spool gear.
