An automotive case was studied where discrete event simulation was used as tool to evaluate process consequences when introducing new material and process technologies into the production system.

This was considered appropriate given the questions that were addressed and the data availability, but more sophisticated models (e.g. Markov models, discrete event simulations) may allow for more refined analyses of the cost consequences of the intervention.

This different perspective is captured in the title of this Special Issue (i.e. When it can be good to feel bad, and bad to feel good: Exploring asymmetries in workplace emotional outcomes), and reflects our interest in examining particular consequences of discrete emotions or emotion-infused concepts at work.
