In her essay Against Students, Goldsmiths lecturer Sara Ahmed writes "the instances of apparent censorship (translate: student protests) seem to generate more discourse and discussion rather than preventing discourse or discussion".

And to those who profess to be true patriots, town hall meetings are designed to encourage rational discourse and discussion of issues, and should be utilized as the forums upon which to make their voices heard.
The results of a discourse analysis on future developments and scenarios, at the same time, cannot be falsified in the same way as a discourse analysis of past debates and discussions.
That's a worthy and difficult question, and it hinges on choosing among conflicting societal preferences: supporting sustainable agricultural practices and family farms, protecting and restoring wilderness, maintaining historical and cultural values, and other difficult and highly subjective factors -- precisely the things that make public discourse, discussion, and debate important.
Opening-up appraisal can provide 'plural advice' for innovators, as it welcomes diverging societal discourses and framings in the discussion, and weighs alternative courses of action.
Consequently, unmasking existing discourses and opening them for discussion could contribute to change towards more health-promoting ways of understanding and acting.
