It would be useful to explore what discordant combinations commonly occur in practice.
Various publications came to the conclusion that most CPGs do not provide guidance on the management of patients with comorbidities, especially for discordant combinations, [ 11] and it has been claimed repeatedly that CPGs should become explicit about the applicability of their recommendations to multimorbid patients [ 12- 14].

There have been other studies, however where no association between 'concordant' and 'discordant' were found [ 23– 25] and we found no difference in SBP attributable to concordant or discordant MM combinations with all comorbidities were associated with lower SBP compared to hypertension alone, regardless of the type of comorbidity (Figs. 2 and 3).
Such research should also take into account the potential impact of concordant, discordant and dominant disease combinations on the experience of care.
