The phrase "disconnect about" is not commonly used in written English.
It does not convey a clear meaning and may confuse readers. It would be more effective to use a different phrase or reword the sentence to make the meaning clearer. Example: "There seemed to be a disconnect about what the instructions were for the project." Revised example: "There appeared to be confusion surrounding the project's instructions."
