According to the city's statistics, slightly less than 40percentt of those who entered high school in the class of 2002 graduated on time, while 19percentt were discharged, 16percentt dropped out, 2percentt got a G.E.D. diploma, and 23percentt were still enrolled and would need more time to graduate.
"It's certainly a good sign if the number of discharges is dropping," said Elisa Hyman, the lawyer handling the cases.
