From a purely scientific point of view these are not physical impairments and could have been excluded, but they were included in the protocol because in Rwanda patients with seizures often presented at physical disability facilities, and also because seizures are associated with other physical impairments such as burns and cerebral palsy.
These factors include age, acceptability of the treatment by the patient or the patient's family, mental status, the presence of disability, the facility to which the patient might be referred, and the attitude of the physician [ 6, 7].
