Tzara was aware that the public could find it difficult to follow his intentions, and, in a piece titled Le géant blanc lépreux du paysage ("The White Leprous Giant in the Landscape") even alluded to the "skinny, idiotic, dirty" reader who "does not understand my poetry".
Rosenthal chided her for trying to make Times readers think dirty thoughts.

Mean-girl high jinks provide the main action in "Runt," but "Trash Can Days" is more complex (as it should be, since it's geared toward a slightly older reader), and the Dirty Little Secrets blog is just an amusing diversion.
He isn't afraid to take a stand: He recommended selling Amazon.com on Aug. 19 at $128 in an article revealing to readers "Amazon.com's dirty little secret," which is no secret at all — namely, that Amazon makes no money.
When asked by a reader if there was any "dirty talk" between them in bed, he said there hadn't been, and elaborated, "At the beginning, she could be clinical in her description of what she was doing and I would get turned on, but not dirty dirty.
The easy explanation for its popularity is the prurience of readers snapping up a notoriously dirty book.
You want your readers to get their hands dirty, exploring, investigating, playing and achieving their own "aha" moments.
"This is in many ways a dirty book," it said, "and those of my readers with tender stomachs are advised to let it alone".
