Mr. Georgine said yesterday that he was due $2 million in severance payments that he said he would give back to the company to repay it for his and other directors' trading profits.
He was one of the last directors to trade repeatedly in underreaction, that most precious of screen commodities.
Competitors have questioned the state award to Big River Fish because the company's director of international marketing, Ross Harano, was state director of trade from 2003 to 2005.
The Financial Services Authority is charged with examining the circumstances surrounding directors' share trades.
