A blogpost from Google's Director of Streams Eddie Kessler, headlined "introducing the new Google+", detailed a redesign of the service aimed at improving the experience for people who actually use it.
Mr. Wilcox, with Yona Backer, founding director of Third Streaming, put the exhibition together.
Nagui Halim, director of high-performance stream computing at I.B.M. labs, said System S was a new model of computing that offered greater flexibility and speed.
Already, said Dr. Stuart A. Hirsch, an orthopedic surgeon in Somerset County, N.J., who is a member of the academy's board of directors, a stream of patients has been entering doctors' offices.
"We will pipe content to corporations, develop technology for non-PC devices, push an open standard and make this all available on broadband," says Dave Fester, marketing director of Microsoft's streaming media division.
"Digital music and the Internet have radically changed how we discover, share and listen to the music we love," said Sam Feng, product marketing director of Logitech's Streaming Media business unit.
"There are significant environmental and energy benefits to getting these phones back into the product stream," the director of the agency's office of solid waste, Matt Hale, said.
"It's important to remember that users are busy, and want to be able to interact quickly and simply with their favourite products," says Boone Spooner, director of mobile product at radio streaming app TuneIn.
"I think the 'closed-doors, come and see the performance and don't ask how it happens,' sort of attitude just isn't there any more," said Kevin O'Hare, the director of the Royal Ballet, which live-streamed a full day of rehearsals last year, attracting 200,000 viewers in one day.
Kimani Roquemore, the director of the Guerlain Spa, said a steady stream of clients has come in since the opening last month.
