Before joining the Education Department, Mr. Morello, 57, worked as director of association affairs for the United States Tennis Association, which runs the United States Open championship in Queens.

Jeff Sherrill, an associate director of the association, says the seal is an educational version of the Underwriters Laboratories seal for electrical appliances, attesting that the programs meet minimum standards.
Each year, the program costs about $100,000 and tests about 650 students, said Kurt Gibson, associate executive director of the association.
"We've reinforced our process regarding children with disabilities," said Charles Schmidt, the associate executive director of the association.
"All the coverage you see in the media about this industry is about layoffs, stock prices and viruses," said Harriet Held, associate executive director of the association.
In September, Clement Imperato, former director of the association's parimutuel department, admitted in federal court that he had conspired with other association employees to defraud the Internal Revenue Service.
Ball State University's alumni association, which has a contract with JPMorgan Chase, does not provide information on students, said Ed Shipley, executive director of the association.
"American competitive surfing was associated with this beach-bum mentality," said Janice Aragon, the executive director of the association and a 1984 world champion surfer whom Mr. Allen coached.
