It is remarkable that both Bi and Te atoms show flattened displacement ellipsoids with the longest semi-axis directed along the [1 1 0] direction, i.e., coplanar with the covalent layers.
At small and moderate deformations, the microstructural evolution is dominated by zipping relaxations directed along the applied strain direction.
In contrast, for narrow DW and weak exchange interaction, the spin of electrons is not directed along the local magnetization direction, and the transport is non-adiabatic.
Consequently, maximum deviation is realized when the mean direction vector aligns with the vector directed along the -axis.
Figure 2b, in particular, shows the elongated ellipsoids of (Te, Se 1 directed along the cell diagonal [1 1 0] direction.
In the reference frame as shown in Fig. 1, the three components of the measured contact force are indicated: the longitudinal force X, directed along the x-axle in the longitudinal direction of rail, the lateral force Y, directed along the y-axle, and the vertical force denoted by Q. The illuminating electromagnetic wave is linearly polarized; the electric field is directed along x-axis and the wave propagates in the z-direction.
Movements were directed along the long axis of the cell, with occasional reversals in direction, and motility was observed independently of the proximity of other cells (see also Video S1).
