In order to obtain the optimum flow channel section design prior the experimental campaign, some key geometric dimensions (channel depth, channel width, rib width and transition radius) of flow channel section, which are related with both reaction efficiency and formability, are extracted and parameterized as the design variables.
For high hydrogen consumptions (∼80%), the optimum dimension value for channel width, land width and channel depth was close to 1.5, 0.5 and 1.5 mm, respectively.
In this case, the channel thickness corresponds to QW width L. Using the lateral dimensions of the bolometer channel (width D w and length D l ), one can calculate the channel resistivity ρ in a usual way as ρ = 1/(eμn), where n is the electron concentration, e is the electron charge, and μ is the electron mobility.

This cross over indicates a change in the interactions between polymer chains from those in one-dimension to those in three-dimensions as the correlation length in the confined solution becomes sufficiently shorter than the channel width.
The channel dimensions also play a role in the hydrodynamic behavior, since the reduction of the channel width and distance between successive channels leads to a decrease in the critical flow rates.
