A comparison is made between the performances of tubular and plate FricDiff-modules for several dimensions of the module using the finite element program COMSOL MultiphysicsTM [Comsol, 2006. COMSOL Multiphysics User's Guide, version 3.3].
The composition series of the factor module Hom ( C, Y ) / U correspond to certain factorizations of f (to the "maximal C -factorizations"), and we may define the C -type of f so that it is equal to the dimension vector of the module Hom ( C, Y ) / U (recall that the dimension vector of a module M has as coefficients the Jordan Hölder multiplicities of the various simple modules occurring in M ).
By varying (i) the initial density of cells at seeding, and (ii) the dimensions of the modules, the number of cells per module ranged from 1 to 2500 cells.
