Much of Miramax's value is in its library of more than 500 titles, from "The English Patient" to the "Scream" series in the Dimension division.
In 1995, after college, Mr. Granat got a job with Harvey and Bob Weinstein at Miramax and was given the task of turning the Dimension division into a youth-oriented MTV-style horror and action brand.
"I think this is what's going to lift the whole dynasty off," said Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of Miramax with his brother, Harvey, who released the film through their company's Dimension division.
Its exact dimensions, divisions, and duration can be measured and described in any number of ways: its turning, tabulated with reference to the sun, the moon, the stars, as well as civil and societal convention.
"Youth in Revolt," from the Weinstein Company and its Dimension Films division, got its green light in spring 2008, when its star, Michael Cera, was still a teenager, and not much older than his character, the lovesick Nick Twisp.
The museum will give Miramax a retrospective of 50 films distributed or produced by the company and its Dimension Films division, which produces science-fiction, thriller, action and horror movies.
After that come "Halloween 2" and "Youth in Revolt," from the company's Dimension Films division, as well as "Nine," a film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical that could put the brothers in the Oscar game again — if they have the tens of millions of dollars it takes to play.

Many of Miramax's recent commercial hits, including "The Others," "Spy Kids" and the "Scream" series, were produced by Dimension Films, a division of Miramax that was started and is run by Mr. Weinstein's brother, Bob Weinstein.
Miramax and the Weinsteins got financial security; Disney got the Miramax film library-which now includes approximately five hundred films... Disney money also permitted Bob Weinstein to launch Dimension Films, a division devoted to the revenue-producing horror- and teen-movie market.
Dimension Films, a division of Miramax, also signed Vertigo to a "first look" deal, in which the studio pays the company's overhead and base salaries — for a young producer like Lee, roughly a hundred and fifty thousand dollars — and, in return, the company offers its projects to the studio first.
