By switching the on/off state of a point light source illuminated on the proposed II system, the 3D images can show/hide independent of the diffused illumination background.
The Fortuny dome and the cyclorama became essential tools of the scenic illusionists, but their invention served the anti-illusionists equally well, as they gave a sense of space beyond the finite limits of the stage, gave solidity to the stylized decor, and silhouetted the rhythmic action of the players against a background of diffused light.
The most dramatic effect observed was with staurosporine treatment, which within two hours of application, caused redistribution of U1-70K from numerous smaller and round speckles on the background of diffused nucleoplasm in control cells to irregularly shaped larger speckles, which appeared coalesced throughout the 3-D space of the nucleus (Figure 1).
