Such a reduction in the vertically differentiated variety is essentially equivalent to being variety averse, discussed in a number of empirical studies (e.g., Levav et al. [2010]; Kaiser [2011]).
Among the breeds sampled, Blanca Celtibérica and Celtibérica are two well-differentiated varieties of the same breed that are reared in very distant areas of the Iberian Peninsula (Fig. 1).
