To vary the probability of reward-delivery, three different stimulus orientations were used for each subject: 1) the zero-contingency orientation had a reward-probability equal to the background reward-rate of 50%, 2) the positive-contingency orientation had an 80% probability of reward, and 3) the negative-contingency orientation had a 20% probability of reward.
