To determine whether lncRNAs are differentially expressed in cells at different differentiation stages, we analyzed their expression in mouse ES cells, lineage-restricted neuroprogenitors (NPCs), and terminally differentiated fibroblasts using a custom-designed microarray containing oligonucleotide probes targeting these lncRNAs (Supplementary Table 1).
The most obvious explanation is that different cell types and/or different differentiation stage for a given cell could respond differently upon stimulation with the same cytokine having a substantially different protein expression patterns and, consequently, different intracellular signaling modules and/or regulatory pathways.
However, there were no significant differences in the positive rate of serum tumor markers among gastric cancer with different differentiation (Table 2).
As these signature patterns were derived from ES cells differentiating following removal of LIF, the signature patterns might be affected if different differentiation conditions were used (e.g.: dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), retinoic acid (RA), ascorbic acid).
A year earlier, a dispatch from The Wall Street Journal's Marcus Brauchli in Shanghai gave the two terms a different differentiation, noting that the fast-spreading disease was "known as hoof-and-mouth in cattle and foot-and-mouth in hogs".
Some researchers performed experimental studies to reveal the mechanisms for the different differentiation behaviors of cells on CNTs.
It remains a mystery whether these miRNAs function through a common mechanism or induce different differentiation programs in various contexts.
Dental pulp stem cells are heterogeneous cell subpopulations likely composed of stem cells at different differentiation stages along odontoblastic lineage, which has broken their characterization.
The scaffold stiffness could be further tuned to match soft tissue mechanical properties, which resulted in different differentiation outcomes with rat bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells toward myogenic and endothelial cells, respectively.
Macrophages can follow different differentiation pathways when activated by cytokines.
Our results supported the idea that ES cells are a equilibrium population that consist of subpopulations of different differentiation potentials.
