During the process, the maker learns how to search for and choose appropriate information, how to put it in use – sometimes even adopting it from a different context – how to communicate and collaborate with other members of the community, how to evaluate one's practice and how to solve problems.
We have enough evidence to confirm that MI practices undercut the equitable and effective delivery of health care, but not nearly enough information to understand the factors shaping posting and transfer in different contexts; how these play out in practice; and how much they contribute to maldistribution, absenteeism and inefficient use of health administrator time.
