Figure 1b shows some of the clusters formed in the disease network for different disease classifications such as neoplasms C00-D499), congenital malformations Q00-Q999), disease of the eye H00-H599), diseases of the circulatory system I00-I999) andiseaseses of the blood D50-D899).
Neuromotor impairment in this disease involves different parts of the body, resulting in specific topographic classifications, such as quadriplegia, hemiplegia and diplegia [ 5].
This precludes production of alternate classifications, such as building phylogenies for a particular subset of proteins while applying different scoring functions.
Coding classifications such as the ICF are unlikely to detect small true changes in status especially if different assessments are used.
However, the use of different procedure classifications is not the only obstacle in the harmonisation of DRGs: the local applications of standardised disease classifications, such as the ICD-10 are also known to vary across European countries [ 3].
