While it is interesting that differences in the operating ranges for PV versus SOM synaptic transfer functions might in principle explain the observed differences in their impact on SSA, the model does not "reveal" mechanisms by which the different interneuron types exert their effects – and could not do so unless the underlying parameter choices were independently validated experimentally.
