Results of these experiments demonstrate that the processed diets (yeast, wheat flour, and corn flour) are potential substitutes for laboratory-grown pipi.
The feeding treatments included five microalgal species (T-ISO clone Isochrysisgalbana, Pavlovalutheri, Tetraselmissuecica, Chaetocerosmuelleri, and 3-H clone Thalassiosirapseudonana), three formulated diets (yeast, wheat flour and corn flour), and a starved group for each of the three size classes.
