Discover Ludwig: The phrase "diesel by" is not a complete sentence, so it is not grammatically correct to use it on its own
However, it can be a part of a longer sentence such as "The car was powered by diesel," or "We filled up the tank with diesel." In these cases, "diesel by" is used to indicate the fuel source of a vehicle. Example: "The truck engine runs on diesel by using a high-pressure fuel injection system."
