On Day 1, each participant provided demographic data (age, gender, and intended specialty), followed by a knowledge pre-test comprised of multiple choice single answer questions about the core didactic topics (shock, acute abdomen, dyspnea, trauma, chest pain, EKG interpretation, and pain management).
Residency curricula usually involves didactic lectures introducing topics and then "real-life, real-time" application when working in the emergency department.
