Many of the genuine rural dialects, such as those of Orsa in Dalarna or Närpes in Österbotten, have very distinct phonetic and grammatical features, such as plural forms of verbs or archaic case inflections.
In some Ulster dialects, such as that of Tory Island, /x/ can be replaced by /h/, e.g. /ha/ "not", and can even be deleted word-finally, as in /ˈsˠan̪ˠt̪ˠah ~ ˈsˠan̪ˠt̪ˠa/ "greedy".
People frown on this in non-standard dialects such as cockney ("the ol' bill").
