Further analysis − including recoding, looking for linkages and connections between the first level codes, searching for negative or deviant instances and examining material by speaker attribute − was completed with the aid of the qualitative software NVivo8® (QSR International, Doncaster, Victoria, Australia).

Up to half of these instances of deviant expression can be explained in part by the covariance along one or more of the axes, some can be attributed to cis-eQTL and epigenetic factors, and it is likely that cumulative trans-eQTL effects are also contributing.
In general, the problem is that it seems always possible that the relevant mental states and events cause the relevant event (a certain movement, for instance) in a deviant way: so that this event is clearly not an intentional action or not an action at all.
