Elliot Lahn, a community development planner for Merriam, a city that reduced its energy use by 5 percent, said that when public meetings were held on the six-town competition to save energy, some residents offered their view that global warming was a hoax.
The findings are relevant for international, regional, and domestic food retailers to understand food retail patterns in Lebanon, for development planners to tailor specific interventions in areas where food establishments are least developed, and for researchers to investigate the impact of such patterns on nutritional transformations among the Lebanese urban, peri-urban and rural populations.
The book is entited "Ecologi cal Guidebook for Development Planners". It is being prepared by experts from the Interna tional Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Re sources and from the Con servation Foundation in Wash ington.
This may be excellent to provide general pictures but less relevant for development planners to tailor context-specific interventions.
With pristine lands nationwide eyed for development, planners need to carefully select which patches of land are most "worthy" of protection.
