In 2005, the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCOO) developed a Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights, which, among other goals, aims to promote respect for human dignity and protect human rights by ensuring "respect for the life of human beings, and fundamental freedoms, consistent with international human rights law" [24].
Most recently, UNESCO has developed a Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights [ 35].
