"We think this would be a coherent continuation of our current detention work in U.S. places of detention," said Antonella Notari, the chief spokeswoman.
"What our advocates and lawyers who do immigration detention work will say is not only is [an arrest in court] problematic for that person's criminal case, but it actually makes it harder to fight their case in deportation court because they show up with an open matter".
Advocates had questioned whether the firm, Stratton Oilfield Systems, understood how immigration detention works.
In a statement to parliament following the publication of a new report by Stephen Shaw, the former prisons and probation ombudsman, into conditions in immigration detention, Sajid Javid said he would review how time-limited detention works in other countries to better inform the debate in the UK.
Previous reporting by the Guardian and Vice News, among others, allege that some detention officials work in tandem with the country's extortion rackets and smuggling cartels, supplying them with migrants in exchange for a fee.
