Analysis of samples was performed using HPLC system equipped with Waters 1515 pump, Waters 2487 detector, Waters 717 P auto-samplers, and Waters C18 column (5.0 μm, 3.9 mm × 150 mm).
The other HPLC system equipped with an Aminex HPX-87H column (300 × 8.0 mm, Bio-Rad, Richmond, CA, USA), an integrated pump and autosampling system (Waters e2695) and a RI detector (Waters 410) was used to determine xylose degradation product furfural.
Peaks were detected by using a RI detector (Waters 2414, Waters Corporation, Milford, MA, USA).
The system consisted of an alliance e2695 separation module (Waters corporation, Milford, MA, USA) equipped with a 2414 RI detector (Waters corporation).
GPC instrument equipped with Waters 1525 binary pomp, manual injector and connected to Styragel HR 4 column and R.I. detector (waters 2414) is employed to record GPC curves.
The samples were analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography (Waters 2695 HPLC, Waters Corp., Milford, MA, USA) with a photodiode array detector (Waters 2998 PDA) for BPA levels.
Tea extracts were analyzed on a liquid chromatography system coupled with a Model 600E photodiode array detector (Waters Corporation, Milford, MA, USA).
HPLC-PDAD and HPLC-FLD analysis extracellular pigments were performed on an Alliance e2695 system (Waters, Milford, CT, USA) equipped with a 2998 photodiode array (PDA) detector (Waters, Milford, CT, USA) and a 2475 multi-wavelength fluorescence (FLD) detector (Waters, Milford, CT, USA) using a Zorbax Eclipse Plus C18 column (250 × 4.6 mm, 5 μm, Agilent, Palo Alto, CA, USA).
The sugars, acetate, glycerol, xylitol and ethanol were detected with a refractive index detector (Waters 2410; Waters, Milford, MA, USA) and HMF and furfural with a UV detector at a wavelength of 210 nm (Waters 2487; Waters, Milford, MA, USA).
The HPLC method for the determination of eugenol was carried out on a Waters Alliance e2695 separating module (Waters Co., MA, USA) using a photodiode array detector (Waters 2998) with autosampler and column oven.
