The striking feature of a nanometric solid is that conventionally detectable properties are no longer constant, but are tuneable by simply controlling its shape and size, and this has originated a revolution in materials science and device technology.
Quite often however, the need for such a test seems to determine the definition of the disease and this may introduce selection bias in the test evaluation [ 30] or force a disease definition, which does not necessarily reflect the essential properties of the disease, but merely the detectable properties.
