It's unclear, however, whether Begg would be the detainee who falls into ODNI's suspected of re-engaging category, or the additional detainee listed in the confirmed of re-engaging category.
Louise Vischer of Amnesty's China research desk says that the 33 detainees listed in the report are likely to be a mere fraction of the real number of people held for expressing their views online.
Two women were among the detainees listed by Ms. Gill: Diloram Mukhamedova, a devout Muslim who, her family said, had not had problems with the authorities; and Darmon Sultanova, whose son was killed several years ago in police custody and whose husband is permanently disabled from police beatings.

Authorities have refused to provide information to the lawyers about prosecutions, access to the detainees, a full list of their names and whereabouts, or the exact charges against all of them.
The document that follows, "List of Detainee Deaths since October 2003," is the government's latest account of deaths in immigration detention, through Feb. 7, 2009.
"We gave the government a list of detainees and asked them to confirm if they were in custody," he said.
"That means going through the list of detainees... to take out people who need not be there," he said.
The United States Army provides a list of detainees to the Kosovo courts and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
