Over a month, the couple, with the help of Ms. Gafford's aunt Ann Mantegna, formed a small assembly line — transferring the bookmark design and printing it on ivory linen paper, cutting out the bookmarks, punching holes, threading wine-colored tassels through them, and packaging the bookmarks in thin ivory linen paper and then into envelopes.
