The description of themes is taken from the relevant papers, but summarised where necessary.
Step 4: A composite summary of statements, interpretation of meaning, and a saturated description of themes were written (see Results).
The following description of themes was developed: a) Ambivalence in prioritizing one's own health; b) Feeling fear of breast cancer, and c) Feeling safe from breast cancer.
This is similar to the grounded theory, but the main purpose of the inductive approach is the rigorous systematic extraction of data and description of themes and categories that are most relevant to research objectives; not necessarily an in-depth theory generating process which is typically applied in the grounded theory.
3. Description of main theme and sub themes.
Framework analysis [ 27], involving familiarization with data, development of a coding schedule, data coding, description of main themes, linking themes, and developing explanations of their relationship to each other was employed.
Description of GP themes (Over-arching theme is described followed by sub-theme description and example): The GPs' level of awareness regarding the implementation of the prompts onto their system often influenced their willingness to use them or even whether they noticed them.
The first author then coded the interviews according to these themes and wrote a preliminary description of each theme.
