AF-6/afadin was strongly expressed in Ishikawa cells, a well-differentiated and grade 1 equivalent endometrial adenocarcinoma cell line, whereas AF6/afadin was weakly expressed in HEC1A and AN3CA cells, which are derived from grade 2 and grade 3 endometrial adenocarcinomas, respectively.
The mRNA expression of two receptors, HER3 and HER4, and four ligands (HRG1 4), including the α and β isoforms of HRG1 and HRG2, was quantified in biopsies from 88 bladder cancer patients (Table 1) and two bladder cancer cell lines (RT4, derived from grade I; and T24, derived from grade III).
We analysed two bladder cancer cell lines RT4 (derived from grade I tumour) and T24 (derived from grade III tumour), obtained from the American Tissue Type Culture Collection (ATCC).

The chronological age and grade were not entered into the analysis because in this study T scores, which were derived from grade-matched normative sample, were used for evaluation.
CatS activity was also present in astrocytoma cells in vitro and the extracellular levels of activity were highest in cultures derived from grade IV tumors.
Of note, only 30% of the cultures containing cells with extended self-renewal capacities (6/19), all derived from grade II-IV gliomas (one astrocytoma II, two astrocytoma III, two oligoastrocytoma III and one glioblastoma), could be maintained beyond 6 months of culture.
These cell lines were derived from grade IV astrocytomas – glioblastoma multiforme (GBM).
RT4 cells are derived from grade I tumor and were obtained from the European Collection of Animal Cell Cultures (Salisbury, UK); RT112 cells are derived from a grade I→II tumor, whereas T24 cells are derived from a grade III tumor.
Neither the RFS nor RFoT models derived included Grade, but both had better predictive and discrimination ability than NPI.
