The Kelvin solution for temperature of the ground surrounding the BHE of large depth-to-radius ratio modeled as an infinite line source (ILS) is the basis for estimating the thermal properties of the ground from TRT data (Ingersoll and Plass 1948; Mogensen 1983; Hellström 1991; Gehlin 2002).
Free surface elevation along the bucket, lower and upper takeoff angles and trajectory of the jet, dynamic pressure distribution and location of maximum pressure along the flip bucket were then calculated in different approach Froude numbers and ratio of flow depth to bucket radius of curvature.
The primary factors influencing the determination of contact depth, pile-up/sink-in and elastic deflection, were quantified by analyzing indentation morphology by finite element simulation; then plastic pile-up/sink-in behavior was formulated in terms of the strain-hardening exponent and the ratio of indentation depth to indenter radius.
The analysis described above results in the following expressions to obtain values for the lumen and ECS outlet (i.e., retentate and permeate, respectively) flowrates: 15 where the coefficient λ is given by 16 and a = s/ d is the ratio of the wall depth to the lumen radius.
The experiments were conducted in triplicate at room temperature in locally made curved shaped bamboo containers (reactor) of dimensions 150 mm top radius and 100 mm depth to facilitate better ventilation for the earthworms (Fig. 1).
Results from the study suggest a set of design criteria based on Keulegan Carpenter (KC) number, ratio of cylinder radius to water depth (a/h), and ratio of water depth to wavelength (h/L).
Soft tissues were parted to identify the c6-7 disc, and a sterile tapered hypodermic needle (26-g, 22-g, or 18-g) was marked to the depth corresponding to the radius of the tissue, and then carefully inserted by hand.
We follow the same procedure in developing empirical formulas for predicting the wetted radius at different soil depths, to estimate the full shape of the wetting pattern.
In a biomechanical study, Kaar et al. showed that defects created at an orientation of 209 ° significantly decreased resistance to dislocation when they were greater than 5/8 the depth of the radius of the humeral head in the axial plane [ 24].
Several problems, such as the relations of the cycle times to the depth and tip radius of the notch, loading frequency, loading range and the parameters of fracture design for medium carbon steel on condition of extra-low axial fatigue loading were discussed based on the experiments.
These models were then used in a detailed parametric study to investigate the web crippling capacities of a wide range of LCB sections including different sectional geometric parameters such as section depth, inside bent radius, thickness and bearing length.
