Stress in the crust is known to increase with depth because of overburden pressure.
In order to satisfy the gradient requirement of the road over such a short distance, the depth of the overburden is inevitably very shallow.
In case of soil and debris slopes, the ratings were assigned based on the depth of soil and overburden.
The basic factors include rock deformation modulus, overburden depth of caverns, height of the powerhouse and the lateral pressure coefficient of the initial stress.
Based on the proposed transformation, the new influence functions for a number of seam inclination angles (i.e., α = 0°, 15°, 25°, 35° and 45°) for an overburden depth of h = 800 ft (244 m) are plotted in Fig. 3.
