The rate of increase in particle density of casts indicates the degree of decomposition of organic matter they contain [45, 46].
The density of the cast composites was observed to be reduced with the increase in BLA content; however, the percent porosity did not show any significant trend with the increase in BLA content.
Powder metallurgy samples showed more porosity portions compare to the casting samples which results in higher density values of casting composites (close to the theoretical density) compare to the sintering samples.
The selected key parameters evaluated after two years were density of earthworm casts, soil organic matter (SOM), bulk density (BD), total porosity (TP), pore size distribution (PSD), mean weight diameter (MWD), and saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ksat).
Pre-drying reduced the moisture content, WHC, total porosity, and WFPS, while it increased the bulk and particle densities of the cast (Figs. 1, 2).
