Restriction site associated DNA sequencing (RADseq) was used to genotype 263 (cross 1) and 261 (cross 2) progeny at ∼8500 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) and construct two dense linkage maps.
These studies are enabled by the genome-wide molecular characterization of the germplasm (Lee et al. 2004; Yi et al. 2006; Kim et al. 2008) and require enough molecular markers for the production of dense linkage and association maps to identify these QTLs.
The map is anchored to a dense linkage map consisting of 994 markers.
Here, we present a dense linkage map for Astyanax mexicanus generated using genotyping-by-sequencing technology.
