Differences between alleles underlying QTL can vary from single nucleotide substitutions to large insertions or deletions between parental cultivars (Paran and Zamir 2003).
The total number of DNA polymorphisms was 1,154,063 including 1,024,202 SNPs, 53,180 insertions and 76,681 deletions between the five accessions and the Nipponbare genome (Figure 1b).
For probabilistic linkages we developed comparison patterns based on a Joarowinkler distance metric to account for typos, spelling errors, transpositions, and other edits or deletions between two strings or set of strings and dates.

Instead, the efficacy of α-cleavage was linearly dependent on the size of deletions between residues 106 119.
Deletions between breakpoint regions at positions 4926 and 16674 of the mouse Notch1 gene were examined as described [29].
Deletions between the hygromycin cassettes can be recovered, as there are no essential genes between the inserts.
We identified large numbers of structural variants (copy number variants, translocations, inversions, and insertions and deletions) between B6 and D2, but none in the Comt interval.
We further note that insertions and deletions between the two strains, which we did not take into account, could potentially cause similar effects.
