The variables generated by the GCC measuring mode of the original software of the RTVue-100 SD OCT (Optovue, Fremont, CA, USA) employed by Baba et al. and Sevim et al. include the average, superior (0 180 degrees), and inferior (180 360 degrees) thickness of the RGCC, which comprises the retinal nerve fiber layer, the ganglion cell layer, and the inner plexiform layer.
We studied nasal quadrant (316 – 45-degree unit circle), superior quadrant (46 – 135 degrees), temporal quadrant (136 – 225 degrees), and inferior quadrant (226 – 315 degrees) thicknesses, all of which were automatically calculated by OCT using the built-in software.
Doubly symmetric oval cylinders having constant thickness and second degree thickness variation in each quadrant are investigated in this paper.

Afterward, 0.2 mmol/kg body weight Gd-DTPA (Magnevist; Schering, Berlin, Germany) with a flow of 2 mL/sec was given intravenously followed after 70 seconds by a fat-suppressed axial 3D-FLASH sequence (TR/TE, 4.6/1.8 msec; flip angle, 25 degrees; slab thickness, 140 to 160 mm with 80 partitions; 512×210 matrix; FOV, 400 mm).
