(Not everyone accepts that the false belief task reveals a conceptual deficit: various authors have argued that the task reveals a deficit of performance rather competence. For a judicious review of some of this literature see Goldman 2006, Section 4.3).
It should be noted that considerable care was taken in this study to minimize the impact of peripheral acuity deficits on performance.
Thus, it is believed that acute effects of peripheral acuity deficits on performance for the sensory temporal-processing or cognitive-processing measures were minimized in this study, thereby making the influence of information degradation less relevant.
Considering the monkeys showing deficits of manual performance with the ipsilesional hand for either one or two parameters, there is no obvious correlation with the size and/or the precise position of the lesion (Fig. 1).
For stroke patients, performance results were drawn from responses of the nonlesioned hand to minimise the impact of the motor deficit on performance.
In contrast, according to a functional account, pessimistic beliefs and motivational deficits are consequences rather than causes of performance deficits that occur when people are confronted with uncontrollable failure: Experimental evidence shows that generalized pessimistic control beliefs typically occur after, not before, people develop symptoms of helplessness and depression.
For instance: "How does the combination of human capital research on firm culture during turnaround interact with financially distressed cost analyses?" Finally, a common deficit of empirical performance analysis is the danger of endogeneity found in research models.
A first subgroup of 4 monkeys (Mk-JA, Mk-VA, Mk-BI and Mk-MO) out of 11 showed a small and transient deficit of manual performance of the ipsilesional hand immediately after the lesion of M1 (Table 2).
For each of the three parameters we assessed, there was, however, a minority of monkeys exhibiting a modest (but statistically significant) deficit of manual performance for the ipsilesional hand, limited to a few days immediately following the lesion.
Indeed, Bdph has also been reported to reverse the deficits of inhibitory avoidance performance and improve memory in rats [ 23].
