The cluster of deepest events extends nearly laterally for about 100 km (Figure 1b).
There are 14 deepest events (m b > 5) since 1995, whose hypocenters are well constrained (Table 1).
These similarities suggest the possibility that there was a large, previously unidentified earthquake under the Marmara Sea with its hypocenter in the region of events 6 and 7, the two deepest events in cluster-A.
