We have previously shown that children with spastic CP have increasing muscle tone in the gastrocnemius muscle up to 4 years of age, followed by a decreasing tone up to 12 years of age (Hägglund and Wagner 2008).
The study showed an increasing muscle tone up to 4 years of age in children with spastic CP and up to 6 years in children with dyskinetic CP, followed by a decreasing tone up to 12 years of age.
