It was assumed that the evapotranspiration rate decreases linearly with a reduction in the elevation of the water table above the drains.
The number of days with heavy precipitation (>10 mm/day) is expected to decrease in the high-elevation areas of the EMME (Fig. 6), the main locations of such events during recent climate conditions (Fig. S 4).
