The initial increase in the chorioretinal lesions and the subtle decrease in visual acuity (to 20/25) were consistent with active inflammatory disease observed clinically.
In the third month of treatment, the patient was noted to have clinical deterioration with decrease in visual acuity to hand movement and progression of the chorioretinal lesion to the macula (Fig. 3).
The right eye had a decrease in visual acuity to 20/200 and OCT revealed progression of the macular hole to a full thickness stage 2 hole with overlying operculum.
Together, these results indicate, consistent with the findings of many previous studies [14], [15], [16], [17], [18], [19], [21], [22], that the effects of eccentric viewing are appreciable when the stimuli are relatively small, and that M-scaling offers a principled method for compensating for the decrease in acuity.
The health care teams were new and the decrease in acuity meant less monitoring and more independent effort from the patients.
Changing from bevacizumab to ranibizumab resulted in a transient decrease in visual acuity (0.494 to 0.436; P = 0.045) and an increase in retinal thickness (316.19 to 336.08; P = 0.042), which are both statistically significant parameters.
Eligible treatments should also be addressed aiming to minimize ocular complications that lead to decrease in visual acuity and ultimately may cause irreversible blindness.

The defocus curves of the studies by de Vries et al. [ 11] (monocular) for Acrysof Restor +4D and +3D, by Toto et al. [ 20] for Tecnis +4D, by Blaylock et al.
