Indeed, vitamin D supplementation has been shown to increase muscle strength in vitamin D deficient adults, to decline the odds of falling, and to reduce the risk of hip and other nonvertebral fractures in elderly [ 189].
Each PSA decline category was assessed for OS surrogacy using Prentice criteria, proportion of treatment effect explained (PTE), and proportion of variation explained.Men treated with enzalutamide had improved OS (hazard ratio, 0.63; P <.001) and higher rates of PSA decline (odds ratio, >19.0; P <.001) versus placebo.
Univariate logistic regression found that the ≥80% group had a lower risk of semen volume decline (odds ratio (OR)=0.54, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.35 0.84), but a higher risk of asthenospermia (OR=1.56, 95%CI: 1.07 2.25).
However, the analyses of predictors for declining participation in the screening procedure showed that living in districts with a higher social burden and a higher need for help described by the teacher increases the odds of declining.
Among those declining to participate, the odds of reporting travel as a barrier were more than double in quintiles 3 5 when compared with quintile 1 (OR=2.37, p=0.005; OR=2.91, p<0.001; OR=2.25, p=0.009, respectively) (see online supplementary appendix S3).
This trend continued, but with a declining magnitude of the odds ratios for subsequent age categories, except the age category 40 44 in which the likelihood of non-adherence was low and not different from that for the 45 49 age category (OR = 1.31, 95% CI 0.95-1.83).
