Dietary administration of DA declined the locomotion behavioral effects of morinda carboxylic acids in a dose-dependent manner.
In another recent study, locomotion declined with aging in Drosophila although males performed better than females at advanced age (Simon et al. 2006).
However, the decline in locomotion is accelerated and more penetrant in the double smo-1 lf bet-1 lf mutants (73%, n = 45).
A decline in locomotion was observed in both unmated mutant and unmated control females, however, a continued higher level of mobility in older mutant flies indicated slowed aging.
